Our DAV - More than just summit climbing
The DAV is about more than just climbing peaks. We all share the love of nature, are committed to protecting the Alps and pass on our knowledge and enthusiasm for mountain sports to others. With over 1.4 million members, we are a strong community who lives that spirit.
Membership in a DAV Section
The DAV consists of over 350 sections. Each of these sections is an independent association. To become a member in the DAV, you choose the section that suits you best. Maybe it's the section in your hometown or one that has a special offer that particularly appeals to you. Each section has its own character and focus. You can easily find a section with our practical section search.
How to become a DAV member
1. Finding a DAV section
Use the section search on the DAV website to find a section near you. You can take into account the courses, events and other offers of the sections to choose the one that suits you best.
4. Send membership application
If you don't want to use the online application form, you can send the completed DAV membership application form as a PDF file to the selected Section.
Moved? New account?
As soon as you become a member, remember to inform your section of any change of personal information so that you receive the DAV Panorama and the notices of the DAV without a break.
If your bank details change, please inform your Section as soon as possible so that they can collect the membership fee. Insurance cover is only valid once the annual fee has been paid.
