On the 12th and 13th August the final of the IFSC Boulder Worldcup will take place under the glass roof of Munich’s Olympic stadium, a location made world famous thanks to the 1972 Olympic Games.

The Olympics could also play a leading role in this final round of the Boulder Worldcup series: thanks to the official recommendation of the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), sport climbing will likely be included in the Olympic programme for Tokyo 2020. After the final decision of the IOC at the start of August, the Boulder Worldcup in Munich could be the first event to take place under the Olympic flag.
